The world we now live in gives us the ability to have almost anything we want at the touch of a button. People put hard work into their healthy lifestyles and maintain them. It's hard to do when so much food around you is unhealthy. Places like Jamba Juice and Red Mango have extra calories and ridiculous prices. Why should you waste time and money with that when you can have a smoothie at home. A lot of people are nervous about the amount of work that goes into it, but in reality, anyone can make a smoothie!
The way to make the perfect smoothie is to find the balance between healthy and enjoyable. I know I do not want a smoothie that has an unenjoyable taste, I want something that is enjoyable, like a milkshake. Stores like Jamba Juice can make a smoothie that I enjoy like a milkshake, but do not feel healthy after having one. It can also be difficult to find a good recipe, and not everyone is Gordon Ramsy in the kitchen. Getting a healthy and delicious smoothie should not be difficult. Most of the time it is the amount of work that goes into making a smoothie that can stop someone from making it. But, the benefits of making the smoothie outweigh the cost of it. The best recipes should be simple enough for anyone to make. It should also use ingredients that can be swap out for something different. What you need is something that is adaptable to whatever your day holds for you and gets you ready for it.
For me, I use a simple green smoothie recipe. I will include it at the end of this article. Start by putting some kale and spinach into the blender. Next, cut up half of a banana and add on top of the spinach. After the banana, you can add a fruit of your choice. I tend to go with some mango, blueberry, or anything that I find that is in season for a nice fresh taste. Before you add ice, I like to put in a scoop of yogurt. You can use any type of yogurt but I go with Greek yogurt to get a texture like a milkshake. Add your ice and blend away.
The reason why I love this recipe is how flexible and healthy it is. It goes further than the fruits you can choose. If you are going to the gym, I recommend substituting the spinach for the protein powder of your choice. It will give your shake some extra flavor and nutrition. If you don't like yogurt or dairy-free, try almond or oak milk. It will still give your smoothie that creamy texture. There are endless possibilities for simple healthy smoothies.
