From a $15 Blender and a Drill Battery.
BLENDi started with a frustration every gym-goer knows: clumpy protein shakes. We set out to build a portable blender powerful enough to crush ice and frozen fruit on the go. Six prototypes and two years later, we launched in 2018, cutting the cord on traditional blending.
First Prototype
We took a $15 store blender and a drill battery and turned it into a portable blender.
Final Prototype
After collaborating with 11 UMass engineers, we built two prototypes and chose the final design as our foundation.
First 300 Units
We produced our first 300 BLENDis that summer and sold out by December.
